Growing Herbs

October 30, 2009 § Leave a comment

I’m undertaking another gardening experiment attempting to grow some herbs indoors.   Since I have the time, I’ve been cooking new recipes, and so many recipes call for fresh herbs.  Since it’s expensive to buy fresh herbs, I thought I’d try growing a few herbs myself.

I have to admit that this experiment is no sure thing. First, I started everything from seed, and as of week 3 everything has sprouted, but I wonder how long these little guys will be happy in pots.  Second, it is now fall in Seattle, which means cloudy days, so I wonder if  the plants are receiving enough light.  I’m worried enough that I’ve been moving them from the kitchen counter to our front window to spend the day.

If nothing else, I hope to learn enough to help me when I try to grow herbs in our garden next spring.
